About

Badass mama. Spiritual gangsta. Portrait artist.

Jenna draws Spiritual Portraits as Ethereal Angel from her home in Aurora, West Virginia — portraits of real people, surrounded by the symbols they live by.

The artist

Pencil, paper and a whole lot of intention

Jenna's portraits start the way most good things do: with someone she cares about and a blank sheet of paper. Drawing friends and family turned into drawing the people who messaged her, and Spiritual Portraits became what people asked for by name — a likeness that carries more than a likeness. Today the work goes out under her artist name, Ethereal Angel.

Her style is instantly recognizable: big, soft eyes; hair that moves; clean, confident linework in graphite and ink, with color when the piece calls for it. Around the face she builds the rest of the story — a third eye, a crescent moon, a cluster of crystals, strawberries and roses, the angel numbers that keep showing up, the zodiac glyph of the person on the page.

A mother first and an artist always, Jenna describes herself as a badass mama and a spiritual gangsta, and the work has that same mix of warmth and nerve. Every portrait is drawn by hand, from your photos, with no AI anywhere in the process.

The place

Drawn in the high country of Preston County

Aurora is a small community in eastern Preston County, West Virginia, high on U.S. Route 50 near the Maryland line. It sits beside Cathedral State Park, one of the last stands of old-growth hemlock forest in the state, and it has a long creative streak — a century ago it was a mountain resort town, and today it is home to the Aurora Project, a multidisciplinary artist residency.

It is a quiet, unhurried place to draw. That stillness is in the work: nothing rushed, every line considered, and a little of the mountain in every portrait that leaves here.

How Jenna works

A few things you can count on

Your symbols, your call

Jenna composes, but you choose what belongs in the portrait. Nothing goes in that isn't yours.

You see the sketch first

The layout is approved before the final linework, so the piece you receive is the one you pictured.

Shared with your blessing

Finished portraits appear in the gallery and on Facebook only when the client is happy to share them.
